Mailyn Fidler's latest research paper posits that internet fragmentation hasn't been as inward-looking as theorists have often suggested. Fidler, whose paper is available for download through SciencesPo, argues instead that fragmentation "is not used not only to tend to one's own walled garden but to make others' gardens worse."
